Monte Carlo and Paris, 1996

n 1996 Anna Chromy started her career as sculptor with two solo exhibitions of eight life-size sculptures representing the characters of W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni opera.

Fitting with the theme, the first show took place in the Atrium of the Monte Carlo Opera, inaugurated by Prince Rainier, accompanied by his son Prince Albert.

From Monaco the group travelled in the same year to the Opera Comique in Paris, and in the following year to the Salzburg Festival, the last time the eight sculptures were shown together.
