AWARD’S REASON

The Prince, who has appreciated and supported Anna Chromy’s work since he inaugurated her first major sculpture exhibition in the Monte Carlo Opera House in 1996, expressed in moving words his gratitude and appreciation for this honor.

Prince Albert is one of the world’s Heads of State with the greatest sensitivity to environmental problems and Sustainable Development. He does not miss an opportunity to raise these concerns in his addresses to the United Nations and other international forums.
It is therefore Anna Chromy and the Directors of the Institute’s firm conviction that HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco can be rightly considered a “Conscience” of our times. His passionate beliefs with regards to the environment are shown through his commitment to combat climate change, preserve our oceans and further sustainable development through his Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and other novel initiatives, such as “THE MONACO APPEAL” by Ban Ki-Moon, Un Secretary-General and THE EDGE, which aims to combine profitability, innovation and sustainability, as well as many others. Biography
