Biography

ANNA CHROMY – PUBLIC SCULPTURES, MUSEUMS, AWARDS
In 1992 Anna Chromy decided to hide her stock of over a hundred oil paintings and several hundred drawings from the public eye, and to exhibit only her sculptures for the next 20 years. During this period she has participated in nearly one hundred exhibitions, including an average of one museum show per year.

2012

  • Exhibition “Spiritus Mundi”. A month-long exhibition of sculpture and paintings in Foshan, China

2011

2010

  • Installation of Anna’s Galileo Galilei sculpture at Jianshanyuan Garden, Gallileothe Creative Base of Chinese Academy of Sculpture, at the Nanjing Information Engineering University
  • Appointment of Anna as Judge in the Chinese City Sculpture Committee, the body who advising cities around China on the choice of their Public Sculptures

  • Exhibition of Anna’s “Eco Warrior” at the Biennale in Venice
  • Inauguration of the Chromy Art Space in Pietrasanta, Tuscany
  • Continuation of the activities related to the Conscience project
  • Exhibition at the Chinese National Museum, Tiananmen Square, Beijing

2009

  • Inauguration of the “Christ Resurrected” in the Saint Severin Church by the Archbishop of Munich
  • “Equus” Trophy for Count Landsberg-Velen, Honorary President of the Order of Malta, Nuremberg
  • Prince Albert II of Monaco honors the Peace Nobel Elie Wiesel with the “Olivier d’Or” created by Anna.
  • Creation of the “Peace Eagle” for the Ecological Foundation of Prince Albert II of Monaco
  • Inauguration of the sculpture “Franz Schubert” at Bad Gastein, Austria
  • Support of Tony Blair and his Faith Foundation for the IWCA the Cloak of Conscience project
  • Personal exhibition at the Arts Space of the Beijing Hongkong Jockey Club (a first for a foreign artist)
  • Anna Chromy is awarded the Professor title by the Chinese Minister of Culture and invited to join the National Academy of Sculpture as permanent member.

2008

  • “Premio Michelangelo”, Carrara, Tuscany, for Anna Chromy (the highest award for a sculptor in Italy)

  • Installation of the group “Saint Francis with Poverty” in the Monastery of Saint Francis in Assisi
  • Creation of IWCA (International World Conscience Association) – Audience with Benedict XVI at Saint Peters in Rome and presentation of a model of the Coat.
  • Presentation of the Cloak of Conscience project to Nikolas Sarkozy, the President of France
