“Un jour après avoir maitrisé les vents, les vagues, les marées et la pesanteur, nous devrions exploiter les énergies de l’amour; et pour la seconde fois dans l’histoire du monde, l’homme découvrira le feu” Teilhard de Chardin.

(” One day, after having dominated the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall exploit the energies of love; and for a second time in history, man will discover fire”).

Introduction

Many indices concord to the belief that humanity has reached a turning point in its history. Our model of development with the tremendous scientific advances since the Renaissance is no longer sustainable. “Secure” Nuclear Power is flying into our face, despite the fact that only two out of 460 nuclear plants have melted down yet. And what about the millions of nuclear weapons hidden from our sight? Humanity is living as if it had several globes to exploit and not just one.

The Maya Calendar is reaching its ninth and final wave, leading to the rebalancing of the male Yang and the female Yin, in favor of the latter. The development of the intuitive female energies of love and compassion will create a new era of harmony, helping us to navigate from 2012 on this dangerous cleavage in human history.

These epochal events need a symbol commensurate to the changes ahead, which could only be conceived by a female artist. The sculptress Anna Chromy responds to this challenge with her Cloak of Conscience, designed as a place to rediscover one’s inner self, one’s conscience, as the faculty to perceive the hidden, eternal truth of His energy. Created from the white marble of the Apuan Mountains it is the largest sculpture ever conceived in a monolith.
Paraphrasing a sentence of Albert Einstein, we feel in front of the Cloak “the futility of human desires and strive for the sublimity and marvelous order which reveal themselves both in nature and the world of thought”. To spread this global message The Cloak will be installed in a highly symbolic place, easily accessible and integrated with the World Wide Web.

The Cloak and The Conscience Project

It is the task of the Conscience Institute to choose the best possible location for the Cloak and to organize its installation. Once this has been achieved, the Institute will start to implement a program designed to favor and accompany the necessary changes. All activities will bear as their unifying symbol the Cloak.

CLOAK WEBSITES and conscience pages on social networks will be the key element to create an open global community of “Ambassadors” and “Guardians of Conscience”, who contribute their experience, rate and comment the contributions of others, make suggestions and give advice on all types of conscience issues related to our survival.
CONSCIENCE EVENTS will be another important factor to raise awareness. They comprise- an annual “Conscience Award” honoring the “Guardians of Conscience” of the year, – a “Conscience Net” of Cloaks in different parts of the world as local focus point for activities, – a”Conscience World Day”, with cloak shaped balloons in places in danger, a. o.

The combination of all these activities will guarantee a permanent projection of conscience related activities to the world and a durable promotion of The Cloak.

THE WORKS
As base for the financing of its activities the Institute disposes of the stock of works created by Anna Chromy in her life time as artist. They comprehend several hundred oil paintings and drawings, and a substantial number of bronze and marble sculptures in all sizes.

The Institute makes this treasure available to the public through annual exhibitions in museums and other public places, museum donations, auctions and private sales.

The Institute has an important stock of television material (with 11 hours alone on the Cloak), photographs, and hundreds of publications on Anna Chromy’s work. It uses these materials for the publication of books and DVD’s, and makes them available for documentaries and feature films.

The Institute organizes the fund-raising activities for the Cloak and the Conscience project as described above through private equity, sponsoring and a merchandising program.

Last, but not least, the Institute has an ongoing activity on the Internet, which includes a constantly updated artists site www.annachromy.com, Anna Chromy on Wikipedia in 16 languages, Anna Chromy on Artnet and other art registers; Facebook, etc.
