Anna Chromy uses artistic means to sharpen the sensitivity and perception of global citizens in order to allow them to connect to the Cosmic or Universal Conscience. Her public sculptures portray moral values of our civilization rather than mocking or even destroying them. Her art can therefore rightly be considered Sustainable or Conscience Art.

We are constantly wrapped in a cloth of electromagnetic fields with a permanent exchange of millions of messages. But we become only aware of this information when we switch on to our TV, mobile phone, or other electronic devices. Similarly, we are constantly surrounded by fields of indestructible information where all wisdom and eternal love is present and permanently accessible, without limitation of space or time, – the Universal Conscience. But it needs a trigger to access this information with our mind.

Anna Chromy’s intention is to generate this trigger through the beauty of her artworks, which awake and extend in this way the perception of global citizens about the benefits such a connection to the Cosmic Conscience can bring to their life. Her life art has the upper hand over the googling mathematical formulas of the internet through its spontaneous, incalculable results. Anna Chromy uses art also to support a number of charitable institutions, giving a vivid example that it is more rewarding to give than to take.

Two shining examples of the past, that have lived according to such principles, are Rumi Galal al-Din and San Francesco d’Assisi, two mystics who founded their respective confraternities in the 13th century in Konya and Assisi. Their philosophy in life is best explained through the following episode: Encountering a beggar, Saint Francis told his companion, “Brother, we have to return our Coat to this poor man, because it’s his. We have had it on loan until the moment we meet somebody poorer than us.”

Konya and Assisi will therefore be among the places to host a Coat of Conscience by Anna Chromy. Assisi is today home to the “Spirit of Assisi”, the Peace Prayer of all religions, founded by John Paul II on October 27, 1986; it is the arrival point of the annual March for Human Rights; it is a place where Buddhists pray in front of the Saints grave, where Arab leaders listen to the sound of the horn donated to Saint Francis 800 years ago by Sultan A-Malik-Al-Kamil, and where the Israeli Ambassador discovered the Star of David sculpted mysteriously onto a pillar of the convent.

Anna Chromy has a life-time involvement with the protection of the innocent and poor, children and animals. Here is a list of works she has created in support of charitable institutions:
